Moritz S. is the founder and principal investment manager of Takahē Capital. He started trading in 1998 and began his professional career as a derivatives trader at HSBC in Germany. Later, he worked for RBS in the UK as well as in the USA, where he was responsible for the bank’s equity derivatives structuring business. In 2012, Moritz co-founded Aquantum, a Munich-based systematic CTA focused on trend following and spread trading strategies. Subsequently, Moritz served as the CEO and CIO of Munich Re Investment Partners, a quantitative asset management firm focused on institutional investment solutions. More recently, Moritz also served as the CIO at Exponential Age Asset Management, a large digital asset fund of hedge funds. He also hosts the Open Interest podcast series on Top Traders Unplugged.

Moritz H. is Head of Quantitative Research at Takahē Capital, where he leads the development and implementation of systematic trend-following and spread trading strategies across global derivatives markets. Prior to co-founding Takahē, Moritz was Head of Research at Munich Re Investment Partners, contributed to portfolio algorithm design at Scalable Capital, and served as CTO at Exponential Asset Management, a crypto-focused fund of hedge funds. Moritz holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Augsburg and a Master of Mathematical Finance from the University of Konstanz. He remains active in academia as a lecturer on financial innovation. His research on volatility, alternative data, and investor behavior has been featured at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.

Leonie began her career at the IT company msg systems ag in Munich before moving to Amsterdam, where she worked as a Product Owner at coworking provider Spaces, developing new tools for its booking platform. She later managed the development of a finance chatbot, combining AI, UX and financial expertise to create a conversational tool for users. A digital nomad, Leo also founded Waves & Wifi, a coworking and coliving space in Nicaragua that serves as a hub for remote professionals. Her experience spans marketing, product development and agile project management.

Friederike is the General Counsel at Takahē Capital, responsible for all legal and regulatory matters. She brings extensive experience from senior roles in banking and finance, including as Compliance Director at UniCredit Bank in Munich and Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Legal at Fidor Bank AG. With deep expertise in securities and regulatory law, she ensures Takahē operates to the highest industry standards while maintaining entrepreneurial agility.
